Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking or renting any items from Chalet Girl (the “Company”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.

You confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted our “How It Works” section prior to completing your booking. It is your responsibility to understand how our rental, delivery, and return process operates.


2. Rental Period

The rental period begins and ends on the dates selected at checkout.

All items must be returned by the agreed return time on the final day of the rental period unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Late returns may result in additional charges at the Company’s discretion, including continued daily rental fees.


3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made 7 or more days before the rental start date are eligible for a 100% refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the rental start date are non-refundable.
  • No refunds are provided once the rental period has commenced.

4. Security, Damage & Loss

Customers are responsible for all items for the duration of the rental period.

You agree that:

  • Any damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged at repair or replacement cost.
  • If an item is lost, stolen, or not returned, you will be charged the full replacement value of the item.
  • Items must be returned in the condition they were received, allowing for normal use during skiing and snow activities.

Do not attempt to clean, wash, dry clean, machine wash, or otherwise treat any rented items. All cleaning is handled professionally by the Company.

Any items returned with signs of incorrect cleaning, attempted cleaning, or damage caused by cleaning attempts may incur additional cleaning, restoration, or replacement charges.


5. Late Returns & Missed Drop-Offs / Pick-Ups

  • Late returns will incur additional daily rental charges.
  • If a scheduled delivery, drop-off, or pick-up is missed due to customer unavailability, additional fees may apply.
  • Any delays that impact subsequent bookings may result in further charges.

6. Delivery & Collection

Customers must provide accurate delivery information and ensure someone is available to receive items at the agreed time, including at unmanned accommodation such as Airbnbs.

If delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect information, access issues, or customer unavailability, the Company is not responsible for delays and additional delivery charges may apply.

Where applicable, delivery will be made the evening prior to the rental start date, unless otherwise stated.


7. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • Selecting appropriate sizing at time of booking
  • Using all items safely and appropriately
  • Ensuring items are not misused, altered, or damaged through negligence
  • Following all instructions provided with the rental items

8. Risk & Liability

Skiing and snow-related activities carry inherent risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law:

  • The Company is not responsible or liable for any injury, accident, loss, or damage that occurs while using rented items.
  • Customers use all items entirely at their own risk.

9. Condition of Items

All items are checked prior to dispatch and provided in good, usable condition.

Any issues must be reported within 12 hours of receipt. After this period, items will be deemed accepted in their delivered condition.

Customers must not attempt to clean or repair any items under any circumstances.

All cleaning, maintenance, and repair is handled exclusively by the Company using appropriate professional processes for technical skiwear.


10. Ownership

All items remain the sole property of the Company at all times. Rental does not transfer ownership of any item.


11. Right to Refuse Service

The Company reserves the right to refuse service, cancel bookings, or terminate rentals at its discretion in cases of misuse, suspected fraud, breach of these Terms, or inappropriate conduct.


12. Force Majeure

The Company is not liable for failure to fulfil bookings due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to extreme weather, road closures, natural disasters, transport disruptions, or other unforeseen events.


13. Privacy

Any personal information collected is used solely for processing bookings, delivery, communication, and customer service purposes.

Your information will not be sold or shared with third parties except where required to fulfil your order.


14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to New Zealand jurisdiction.


15. Agreement

By completing a booking with Chalet Girl, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
